Kalimat nominal ialah jenis kalimat yang predikatnya tidak menggunakan kata kerja, melainkan menggunakan to be sebagai penggantinya. Kalimat nominal digunakan untuk menyatakan identitas, kepemilikan, asal/ posisi, penampilan, keadaan, dan perasaan/ emosi.

- To be + not dapat disingkat baik menggabungkan to be dengan not seperti isn’t dan aren’t, maupun dengan menggabungkan subjek dan to be seperti I’m not dan she’s not.
